ForgeWeather ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's GPS coordinates to provide weather information for your current location. You can deny this permission and manually search for locations instead.

Search Queries: When you search for a city or ZIP code, we send that query to our weather data provider to retrieve location coordinates.

Saved Locations: Locations you save are stored locally on your device.

Preferences: Your settings (temperature unit, wind speed unit, time format) are stored locally on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any other personal information beyond location data and app preferences.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide current weather, forecasts, and air quality information for your location
• To remember your saved locations and preferences
• To display relevant advertisements (free version only)
• To process premium subscription purchases

Data Storage

All user data (saved locations, preferences, cached weather data) is stored locally on your device only. We do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers.

Weather data is cached temporarily (30 minutes to 24 hours depending on data type) to improve performance and reduce data usage.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenWeatherMap: Provides weather data. Your coordinates are sent to retrieve weather information. OpenWeatherMap Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob: Displays advertisements in the free version. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad personalization. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Play Billing: Processes premium subscription purchases. Google Privacy Policy

Your Rights

• Location Access: You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings
• Saved Data: You can delete saved locations within the app
• Ads: Upgrade to premium to disable advertisements. You can also opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
• Clear All Data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

Data Security

All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. API keys are stored securely on our servers and are never included in the app.

Children's Privacy

ForgeWeather is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
